Publication and Editorial Ethics
Submission of a manuscript to the Editorial Office of the Journal automatically implies the author’s / authors’ consent to the publication of their scholarly work in the event of a positive editorial decision.
Ethical responsibilities of authors
The author(s):
- bear responsibility for the novelty, originality, and reliability of the research results submitted for publication;
- must comply with the rules and standards of academic integrity, in particular avoid plagiarism and data falsification;
- guarantee that the submitted manuscript is not under consideration by any other scholarly journal;
- must adhere to ethical standards of academic discussion, including in the critical analysis of other studies;
- must inform the Editorial Office about any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the review process, interpretation of results, or conclusions of the study.
Ethical responsibilities of the Editorial Board
The Editorial Office of the Journal:
- complies with the legislation of Ukraine on copyright and with the principles of publication ethics developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE);
- ensures double-blind peer review of submitted manuscripts and promptly informs authors about the receipt of the manuscript and the results of expert evaluation;
- guarantees that manuscripts rejected for publication will not be used by members of the Editorial Board for their own benefit and will not be disclosed outside the interaction between author, editor, and reviewer;
- maintains open and constructive communication with authors regarding all aspects of submission, review, editing, and publication of their materials;
- agrees with the author on the possibility of publishing the article in the next issue of the Journal if the author fails to revise the manuscript within the established time after receiving reviewers’ comments;
- guarantees the confidentiality of contact details of authors, topics, texts, etc;
- ensures that editorial corrections (terminological, stylistic, factual, etc.) will not change the meaning or the scholarly content of the article.
Ethical responsibilities of reviewers
The reviewer is required to:
- evaluate manuscripts objectively on the basis of scholarly criteria;
- review only those manuscripts whose subject corresponds to the reviewer’s academic competence;
- inform the Editorial Office about any potential conflicts of interest (personal, professional, etc.) and decline the review in such cases;
- maintain confidentiality of manuscripts received for review (not to share them with third parties or use them for personal purposes);
- complete the review within the specified time or inform the Editorial Office if it is impossible to prepare the review within the given deadline;
- adhere to generally accepted standards of academic ethics, including the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics.
Responsibility of the Editorial Board
The Editorial Board is not responsible for the views expressed by the author(s) in scholarly articles.
